Our virtual events are human events.
Successful virtual events and physical events have one important thing in common: they create and strengthen human connections.
Because attendees aren’t in the same space, virtual events require creative solutions for achieving the same kind of connections and emotions that exist in physical events.
Since 1994, Wellington’s human-first approach to event development has helped clients expand their businesses, attract and retain new talent, fundraise, and engage in effective advocacy. The format of an event might be different, but the strategic approach remains the same whether the event is virtual or physical.
Our virtual events are unique, signature experiences that create connections that deliver value to both internal and external audiences. We find the best ways to make your virtual event interactive and engaging for your specific audience, to reflect your brand, and to recognize your sponsors and exhibitors.
Whether you’re pivoting from a physical event to a virtual event or you’ve never done an event before, the Wellington team has you covered.

Every virtual event is different. Here are just a few examples of virtual events we’ve created:
VIRTUAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE

A virtual annual conference for over 2,000 attendees. In partnership with Intrado, we transitioned the client’s annual conference to a virtual experience that saw registration increased 50% over the previous year. Attendees enjoyed gamification through points that could be earned by participation. While most content was prerecorded, 14 of the 16 Q&A sessions were live.
VIRTUAL EVENT FOR GLOBAL CUSTOMER BASE

A global virtual customer event for over 14,000 attendees in 108 countries, including mainland China. Over two days, 409 sessions showcased what’s on the horizon at Crestron through keynote presentations, product demonstrations, product stories, live panels, and roundtables with industry experts. Live Q&A sessions in 20 regions, live chat, video chat, and scheduled meetings mobilized sales teams to engage with customers.
“REALLY impressed with the NEXT production. Only a few minutes in and they’ve put to shame the two most recent national conventions.” – Attendee
GLOBAL SALES VIRTUAL KICK-OFF

Partnering with Intrado, we developed a single portal that could be tailored to attendees from either North America or from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Three days of live content included a celebrity chef cook-along and a live visual scribe, who turned speaker concepts and attendee participation into real-time illustrations.
NATIONAL ORGANIZERS’ SUMMIT

By adding virtual capabilities to an existing in-person event, we increased overall attendance and engagement. Even more important to the client’s mission of addressing systemic inequity and promoting ecosystem building, the virtual model allowed for a more diverse audience.
“The chat was more than virtual; it was real.” – Attendee
VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER & AWARENESS EVENT

The client’s first all-virtual event also marked the unveiling of its new brand to over 700 attendees and guest speaker Diane von Furstenburg. Virtual networking rooms replaced the traditional pre-event cocktail hour by providing a choice of engagement from a musical piece, local fashion highlights, or a signature cocktail demonstration. With over 50 sponsors, we exceeded the fundraising goal.
“Our guests were very impressed with the virtual platform, the quality of the production and the quality of service they received from your team before and during the event.” – Client Chief Development Officer
EDUCATORS’ VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

A virtual event connecting over 950 educators with a combination of large webinars and small breakout groups. The full-day event included a mobile app to facilitate engagement and make it easy for attendees to plan their day.
“We would not have been able to have this event without Wellington. Their expertise was everything we needed.” – Client Associate Superintendent for Curriculum
VIRTUAL ONBOARDING

A four-day virtual onboarding for 50 interns and 10 staff across multiple departments. Breakout sessions and a trivia game kept attendees engaged, and a branded gift box filled with snacks was delivered to each attendee’s home before the event.
SCIENTIFIC EDUCATIONAL VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

A virtual educational conference producing 40 hours of content over four days. Although the main production studio needed to be relocated 30 minutes before the event due to Hurricane Zeta, the event went on as planned without any impact to attendees.
“You and your team have proven to be a vital partner in our events and beyond. The partnership has been strong right from the start and the commitment is clearly demonstrated in all that you do.” – Client CEO
VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER FOR ARTS EDUCATION

The first-ever virtual version of a multidisciplinary performing arts showcase that also serves as a major fundraiser. We used the PheedLoop platform to deliver livestream content as well as a virtual lobby to promote sponsors and embed social media feeds. Donation totals broke all existing records.
“This evening was BEAUTIFULLY produced!!! Bravo!!!!”” – Attendee
FAITH-BASED LIVE & VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER

Historically an onsite plated dinner that serves as the organization’s annual fundraiser, we added a virtual option for at-home participation for over 500 people with the same feel as an in-person event. Guests could host a home party for ten people, complete with catered meals, floral centerpieces, and wine while enjoying the same caliber of content and engagement they had come to expect from the event. Donations exceeded both the goal and the prior year’s donation level.
GLOBAL NON-PROFIT VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

An annual conference for attendees across the globe, featuring two stages with over 200 speakers from 20 countries in almost every time zone. We produced a 48-hour continuous conference stream that integrated Slid.O so the audience could up-vote the questions they most wanted to be answered. We also provided speaker management to ensure that each speaker felt comfortable and had the right timing for their sessions.
“Huge, huge, thanks for your amazing work on the conference. I am so impressed by all of you and deeply grateful for what you’ve done to make both of our first two conferences so special.” – Client President
FINANCIAL INSTITUTION VIRTUAL EVENT

We created this virtual event as a way for our client to virtually connect with their clients. Because the client is in a regulated industry, questions were cleared in advance to ensure compliance with applicable rules.
NON-PROFIT ANNUAL CONFERENCE

In partnership with Intrado, we produced a virtual annual conference for over 700 non-profit housing professionals, including integration with the client’s existing technology, closed captioning for all sessions, and a conference line for attendees without access to WiFi.
GLOBAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE

A global virtual event for over 1,200 contextual behavioral scientists representing 33 countries. The program included seven concurrent sessions and 110 poster presentations, as well as live Spanish translations.
“The online chat went really well and was well-prompted by Wellington. The plenary intros, talk, and Q&A were seamless due to Wellington’s planning.” – Client
GLOBAL EXECUTIVE VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM

A one-day virtual symposium for 150 executives from the United States and Mexico. We customized a tech stack to meet the client’s heightened security requirements and provided speaker coaching to ensure first-time speakers were comfortable presenting in a virtual setting.
