The Creative Team Lead loves to create beautiful things. They are passionate about doing and directing design projects of all kinds from concept to implementation.
The Creative Team Lead will work closely with clients and team members to conduct an initial needs discovery, present concepts and recommendations, and develop an execution plan. Throughout the project, they will actively communicate with the internal team to review deliverables and ensure quality and efficiency. Up-to-date and relevant knowledge of design platforms, event marketing, and print and digital work is crucial.
The Creative Team Lead will oversee a team of 2-3 designers and marketers. They will meet with each team member on a regular basis to evaluate workflow and provide feedback. They must be humble, willing to embrace new ideas and able to create a culture of accountability and support for the team.
Level of experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study. 3+ years design experience in an agency setting. Up-to-date knowledge and experience with design platforms and print and digital work.

Client Projects
- Gain an in-depth understanding of client’s brands, strategies and goals.
- Strengthen client relationships by providing industry expertise.
- Work with account team to develop design vision and present to client, including logo, brand identity and messaging.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop specific action plans.
- Act as a client escalation point and quickly address needs.
- Deliver new and creative ideas for client projects and internal operations.
- Stay up to date on relevant industry trends and platforms.
- Energetically represent, craft and implement the Wellington brand in the community and in the industry.
Team Management
- Optimistically and effectively manage the creative team – including workflow management, training and coaching.
- Develop strategy, execute processes and ensure consistent service level standards for creative team.
- Approve and monitor program specifications, timelines, budget parameters, program profitability, efficiency, and post program wrap up.
- Partner with Operations team to address new project needs and assign resources.
- Take active role in staff meetings.
- Develop strategic vendor partnerships and analyze when to utilize.
- Travel approximately 10 percent of the year.
