The Gifting Engagement Manager (GEM) is responsible for developing, maintaining and servicing Wellington clients in the Gifts division. The ideal candidate is personable and highly organized. This trend-conscious person must have the passion to learn the clients’ brand and then translate them into innovative gifting strategy. They will play a key role in the sales process and then ensure outstanding service to high-value clients.
The GEM applies creativity, problem-solving and brand intelligence to curate product strategies that enhance the client experience in a meaningful way. He or she will attend face-to-face meetings and initiate regular phone conferences with clients – necessitating a poised, influential communication style and the ability to effectively “read” people and situations.
The GEM is responsible for managing all aspects of client projects – including needs assessment, project plan, gifting strategy, vendor communication and financial planning – to ensure consistency, on-time execution and brand compliance. The ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects and work in fast-paced environment that demands quick turnarounds are imperative to success. The GEM must also embrace technology and be in tune with evolving trends.
The Gifting Engagement Manager reports to the Director of Gifts and has the ability to grow into a Gifts Account Executive.
You’ll spend your days on the following:
Client Relations:
- Energetically represent, craft and implement the Wellington brand in the community and in the industry.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of specific client’s brands, gifting strategies, goals, etc.
- Advise clients and act as a consistent resource; address needs and inquires, ensuring their questions are answered promptly and appropriately.
- Professionally give creative and strategic sales presentations (in-person and virtually) to new and existing clients.
- Encourage positive client relations and satisfaction ratings by delivering the highest level of customer service.
- Spearhead project plan development and implementation for client projects including but not limited to: branded product needs, online retail stores, pop-up store experiences, virtual experiences, custom promotional mailings, warehouse and product fulfillment.
- Resell current business.
Project Management:
- Master clients’ brand standards and integrate them into gifting strategy.
- Manage project plan for direct Gift clients or partner with Events team on project plan for dual clients.
- Communicate with client on project plan, progress and gifting recommendations via phone, email and face to face meetings.
- Manage project budgets start to finish and make strategic financial decisions.
- Source and manage vendors as needed; control contract negotiations, quality, on-time delivery and brand compliance.
- Collaborate with team to conceptualize and provide solutions for client needs.
- Understand industry terminology and pricing models.
- Develop new, creative merchandising ideas on a consistent basis.
- Oversee product fulfillment for quality and accuracy.
- Travel approximately 20 percent of the year – long days/light lifting.
Other:
- Participate in networking and/or tradeshow events, as needed.
- Take active role in department and team meetings.
- Lead or participate in brainstorming sessions.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. 3+ years experience in project management experience. 1+ years experience in promotional products industry.
