OUR APPROACH: IDENTIFY – STRATEGIZE – DELIVER.

Challenge:

Wellington was tasked with crafting a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a national incentive that was previously hosted at the regional level. Elevating the experience to have national draw and staying true to the brand, Wellington was challenged to weave the core theme of amazing experiences throughout every touchpoint. Expectations were high, and it was crucial to make this program more impactful than anything the attendees – whether they be first-time winners or veterans – had experienced before.

Wellington Solution:

After more than 100 hours of deep dive research and creative collaboration, Whistler, British Columbia in Canada emerged as the soon-to-be-unforgettable destination. Wellington sourced world-class accommodations, venues and unparalleled activities that could be experienced few places in the world.

Attendees were immersed in culture during the first touchpoint of the trip – a welcome reception and dinner – at the Squamish & Lil’wat Nation Cultural Centre. Influenced by local indigenous tribes, guests were surrounded by authentic art and history during a spectacularly inspired first nations feast and market gift selection, featuring pieces crafted by local artisans.

Later in the week, a breathtaking and awe-inspiring experience awaited guests in a truly unexpected place – the top of a 12,000 year old glacier. The dazzling cocktail reception was only accessible by helicopter. Utilizing five waves of five helicopters, the entire attendee group enjoyed champagne sabering, views and priceless photo ops together.

The week rounded out with a historic experience – a farewell reception and dinner at Whistler Olympic Park. Paying homage to the 2010 Winter Games played there, attendees participated at the biathlon course, shooting guns used during the real games under the guidance of athletes.

Results:

Attendees experienced amazing touchpoints at each turn with an unmatchable level of service. Whistler was a new destination for most attendees, and one that surprised and surpassed what they anticipated. First-time winners left determined to win again next year while previous winners were impressed beyond expectations, with several commenting that this was their favorite trip of all time.

At a glance: Wellington was tasked with crafting a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a national incentive that was previously hosted at the regional level.
